I initially joined the company as a Product Owner, with a mutual agreement to first fix internal processes before stepping into the role. As a result, I was promoted to Head of Development & Operations.
The main challenge was that everything was already in motion teams were mid-delivery, commitments were made, but workflows were broken. I had to restructure on the fly, restore order, and still ensure delivery. It was a tough period, but I made the hard calls and got things back on track.

Blocktrade is a regulated European crypto exchange offering 50+ digital assets with a gamified trading experience. During beta, the platform reached over 500,000 plays. Used by both retail and institutional clients in Europe.

  • Led the IT department (40+ people across 5 cross-functional teams), including engineering, QA, DevOps, and technical management, owning end-to-end platform delivery and execution.

  • Received public leadership recognition from CPO and CEO for contributions to product growth, EU expansion, and the Blocktrade 4.0 launch (Worked closely with C-level stakeholders to align strategy and execution).

GetID is an Estonian-based identity verification platform offering comprehensive KYC and AML compliance solutions. Its services include ID document verification, face matching, liveness detection, AML screening, age verification, and proof of address. With support for over 8,000 document types from 223+ countries, GetID enables businesses to streamline customer onboarding and reduce fraud.

🚵‍♂️My Journey:

This was the foundation of my IT Project Management and Product Ownership expertise. In practice, I led the entire IT department while working closely with product. The experience was intense and rewarding we built the platform from scratch with an exceptional team of engineers and business professionals.
The main challenge was entering a market dominated by established players, with no prior domain experience. Personally, balancing client demands with long-term product growth was the hardest part. But we pulled it off: from zero to 150+ customers in under two years, and the company was successfully acquired.

💻Responsibilities:
  • Led the end-to-end development of GetID, a KYC & Identity Verification platform, from concept to successful acquisition.

  • Led the IT department (~20 people across distributed cross-functional teams), including engineering, QA, and technical coordination, owning end-to-end delivery and execution.

  • Managed communications, resource coordination, and milestone tracking to deliver a robust feature set including Document Verification, Face Matching, Liveness Detection, AML Screening, Age Verification, and Proof of Address.

  • Hired and integrated key team members into the core team to support product growth

  • Established delivery workflows and structured team processes

  • Maintained close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment of the product roadmap with business goals. Received positive feedback for consistently meeting delivery expectations and contributing to stakeholder value.
